I would like take this opportunity to update you on the activities of the chapter. Since August 2018, your new set of ICF Philippines Charter Chapter officers has endeavored to sustain the momentum and dedicated service set by Immediate Past President Paui Del Rosario and the previous set of officers.
Our Professional Development Committee headed by Thea Masangkay has offered interesting and enriching monthly learning sessions aimed at enhancing the competencies and effectiveness of our coaches. Certificates on Continuing Coach Education (CCE) in Resource Development are now available upon conclusion of each learning event. (Although sessions on Coaching Circle of Support and Peer Group Coaching can potentially earn for us CCE units in Core Competencies, the chapter will still need to apply for program accreditation from ICF to make this happen, and this will take time and incur costs. ) We likewise introduced a feedback mechanism to gain insights from participants on how to further improve our learning sessions.
Our Community Relations Committee chaired by Jen Ocsena has partnered with the Association of Pharmaceutical Trainers (APT) to offer pro bono coaching to the members of APT, which provided a venue for our members to hone their coaching skills. We are currently working on expanding the scope of the partnership to pave the way towards paid coaching engagements. We are also looking for other institutions or organizations to partner with for our pro bono and/or paid coaching engagements.
Our Membership Committee led by Dr Popo Soller has been actively campaigning for more members to join the chapter, ensuring that membership should be more than 50 to maintain our chapter charter status. New members are now welcomed through an onboarding briefing, wherein they are informed about the new set of officers, ICFPhils Committees, the benefits of membership in both the ICF global and local chapter , the credentialing requirements and the activities to look forward to for the rest of the year. The onboarding session is then followed by an introduction to the members of the organization and the induction during the learning session.
Public Relations Committee (PRC) concurrently chaired by our VP Arvy Villamarzo will organize 2 Conversations over Coffee in January and May 2019. These activities are aimed at educating the public about the transformational benefits of coaching and providing more opportunities for our members to practice their coaching competencies. Updates on the chapter activities are captured in our ICFPHILS website as well as Facebook and Instagram accounts. Moreover, PRC will soon release relevant coaching videos thru YouTube.
Moving forward, several activities have been planned for the rest of the year and in 2019. This early, we are excited to let you know that we are embarking on an ambitious project of conducting a National Coaching Conference, which we plan to hold sometime in October 2019. This conference will be open to the members and the general public and will feature renowned international speakers. Aside from further raising awareness about the coaching profession all over the country, the conference will also be an avenue for participants to earn CCE units in Core Competencies. An endeavor of this significance and national scale will require our best efforts. In this regard, we would like to recruit volunteers who are willing to work in the Steering Committee that will handle the marketing and administrative aspects of the conference. While experience in organizing conferences is desired, every willing volunteer will be greatly appreciated.
We encourage you to contribute and be part of the National Conference that will make a mark in the coaching industry! Should you be interested to help in any way or volunteer in any capacity toward this endeavor, please contact me through email@example.com my mobile number 09178317140.
Looking forward to your active participation in our future activities , most especially in the planned National Conference.
Thank you and best regards .
